October the 6th was the Friday I was joined by 2 Ukrainian instructors, Polukhin Stanislav and Alina Shakhova, to teach two classes that day. The first was from 9am till 1pm; the second started at 2pm and went on until 6 that evening. Each class had ten students, some were fresh out of the academy, some had over a decade patrolling the streets, while their medical background knowledge ranged from nursing to basic first aid. Teaching basic combat care, including tourniquet use, wound packing and chest seals, made for an intensive workshop but it was a deeply fulfilling day.
